I bought gas the other day. Just went to the nearest place since I was running past 1/4 empty. Didn't look to see how much it was.
Thankfully the drive to work is only 10 minutes. Maybe I should start walking again...........maybe

It has jumped over a nickel by my house in the last two days. It's just absolutely insane. The last time I saw a price with the state average was a week ago; it's about ten cents more now, and that's the lowest I can find!
And I wish I could walk to work - I soooo would!

*sniff* I live in IL!

I actually got an email, saying to send it to 10 people or so. Something about banning ExxonMobile's gas. I'd load it to here but I don't doubt that others have already gotten it.

I know the day I posted that, there were talks of boycotting gas. That's all well and good to say, but I just don't see it happening. It would have to be on a large enough scale to affect the gas companies, and I don't think that many people are willing to totally give up their creature comforts (despite the despicable prices).

Oh, The Gas Prices aren't that bad.
Just ask Speaker of the house Dennis HastertQUOTE
The Associated Press has photographed Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (R-IL) ditching his brightly colored hydrogen automobile in favor of a gas-guzzling black SUV after exiting a news conference and photo opportunity at a Washington, DC gas station.
After the conference, which addressed high gas prices, Hastert and other Congressmen had been carted away in fuel saving and alternatively powered automobiles. Just blocks away from the scene, Hastert was photographed ditching his in favor of his usual official car.
If you're in the goverment it seems that Gas prices are Just right!

I noticed today in north-suburban Chicago that the prices have actually DROPPED *gasp* below $3.00/gallon. Actually saw as low as $2.97!!! *extreme sarcasm intended*
I'm assuming these "low" prices won't be around for long, what with Memorial Day coming up and all.

Most places are 2.83 near me, not too bad. My grandmother was talking about refusing to pay 20 cents for gas when she was a teenager so she ran out of gas.
I've decided I'm working at a restaurant this summer half a mile from my house, no driving required.

I haven't been with my mom when she filled up her minivan in awhile; but last I remember, it was pretty damn close to being $50. It lasts awhile though; although now that she's driving around a bit more, it probably won't.
Seriously thinking of looking into a new car (have no idea how to go about thiat since I've never bought one before

) for my mom since that minivan is such a freakin' gas guzzler.

Hehe, sorry to have misled you dude. Gas prices are insane though. To be thinking how cool it is that the closest gas station is still at $2.94 is absolutely insane.
Doesn't seem that long ago that my friend and I were gassing up the rental at 99 CENTS per gallon.

Yeah, a dollar did seem like a lot. Even at that point I was referring to (about seven years ago actually; not all that long ago really).
And DAMN!!! I really hope they have good pay in the UK for those gas prices.

Life in Europe is expensive. But luckily they have the Metro which helps with going to a lot of places. As compared to here they're just starting to build. You need a car here
